R Miller Architecture represents an international group of talented people both present and past. Design professionals from around the globe have contributed to the long-term success of R. Miller Architecture.

Robert Miller, FAIA

Bob Miller’s architectural career began in 1966 at the University of Florida’s College of Architecture, where he graduated summa cum laude. Over the course of more than five decades, he has built an extraordinary body of award-winning work distinguished by thoughtful design, creativity, and enduring impact. Early in his career, Bob worked with large national firms in Iowa and Florida, gaining valuable experience that would shape his architectural philosophy and leadership approach. In 1989, he and his wife Diane founded R. Miller Architecture, fulfilling their American dream and establishing a firm grounded in faith, family, and service.

Throughout his career, Bob has been widely recognized for his remarkable design intuition and natural instinct for creating architecture that responds meaningfully to people and place. His leadership is defined by grace, compassion, and wisdom—qualities that have guided both his projects and the many professionals he has mentored along the way. In 2006, he was honored with elevation to the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows, one of the profession’s highest distinctions. The AIA Fellows Jury noted of his life’s work:

Founder and President

“Offering not just his services, but his heart, Bob Miller has worked tirelessly for the well-being of others. His exemplary life exudes compassion and excellence and his colleagues and profession with the most extraordinary expressions of ingenious forethought, compassion, and excellence.”

Bob has also served his community beyond the practice of architecture, including serving as a City Councilman in Maitland, Florida 2005 to 2007, following an eleven year term of city planning, numerous mission boards, including traveling to over 50 countries on mission trips, church boards, and currently serves on the board of Liberty Counsel, a Constitutional Law Firm in Central Florida.

R. Miller Architecture remains a true family legacy, with Bob and Diane working alongside their children—Kim, Jennifer, David, Rachel, and Elizabeth—continuing a tradition of dedication to thoughtful design and meaningful service.

David Miller, ASLA

A graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Design, Construction, and Planning, David brings more than twenty-three years of experience to the firm. He has played an instrumental role in both the marketing and design of a wide range of architectural and landscape projects, helping guide ideas from early concept through thoughtful design solutions. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and creative problem-solving, David has a talent for developing design concepts that are both visually compelling and carefully resolved.

David’s advanced 3D visualization capabilities have earned the favor of many clients, allowing them to clearly understand and experience projects long before construction begins. Two of the greatest influences on his career are Frederick Law Olmsted and his father, Bob, both of whom shaped his appreciation for thoughtful, place-driven design. A semester studying in Italy further deepened his passion for architecture, landscape, and the relationship between built form and environment.

David is an active member of the American Society of Landscape Architects. He also serves as a board member of the Winter Park Land Trust and previously served with Casa Feliz Historic Home Museum. He is a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, where he contributes his expertise as part of the building committee.
