Community Involvement

As an architect, Bob Miller does everything with purpose and excellence. As a leader, volunteer, and humanitarian his passion to help others carries this same commitment to excellence.

Miller’s motivation to serve is guided by his faith and framed by his desire to advance the profession of architecture.

The causes have been diverse: an elected Councilman for Maitland, Florida; orphans in Haiti, indigenous people in Central America, chemically dependent men in Central Florida, education and economic empowerment in the oldest African American township in the US, a college in Russia, public transportation using alternative energy, and mentoring and supporting aspiring architects.

While his volunteer and civic activities are varied and multi-dimensional, there is a common thread- Miller chooses his activities carefully to create the highest impact. Once he decides to support a cause Miller has consistently demonstrated a commitment to ensuring the success of these endeavors, often going well beyond the call of duty.

The tinderbox effect: As President of R. Miller Architecture, Bob Miller has inspired and mentored his colleagues to get involved and make a difference in our community. The effect, well, it’s been like a tinderbox.
