The Florida American Institute of Architects Honors Robert Miller, FAIA with the Charles W. Clary Government Service Award

The Florida American Institute of Architects awarded Robert Miller, FAIA its prestigious Charles M. Clary Government Service Award. Charles W. Clary, FAIA, from Destin, is a former member of the Florida Senate. The award is given to an AIA Florida architect who, by their interest, activity and concern for the profession of architecture, shall have advanced the cause of good design and planning, and/or contributed to the dignity and value of the architectural profession as an elected or an appointed or employed government official.

The profession of architecture has directly benefited from Miller’s passion to seek out uniquely diverse opportunities to improve conditions for people through government and volunteer service. During the past 15 years he has personally invested more than 7,000 hours as an elected City Councilman, Chairman and Board Member on more than 12 government and faith-based volunteer organizations, and volunteer architect for the City of Maitland Downtown Redevelopment Plan.

Miller was selected to receive the award by a jury of his peers. The award was bestowed upon Miller at the AIA Florida Convention at The Breaker’s in West Palm at their annual convention August 2, 2008.

Miller is the President of R. Miller Architecture, Inc. in Winter Park and former City of Maitland Councilman.
